Beef Stroganoff is a classic dish that has been enjoyed for generations. It is made with tender beef, mushrooms, and a creamy sauce. This recipe is easy to follow and can be made in just 30 minutes.
Ingredients:
6 oz beef steak, sliced into thin strips
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
Salt and pepper
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 onion, chopped
8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup beef broth
1 tsp English mustard
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 cup sour cream
Instructions:
In a large bowl, combine the beef, flour, salt, and pepper. Toss to coat.
Melt 2 tablespoons of the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the beef and cook until browned on all sides. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
Melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter in the same skillet. Add the onion and cook until softened. Add the mushrooms and garlic and cook until the mushrooms are soft.
Return the beef to the skillet. Add the beef broth, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Add your sour cream. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes, or until the beef is cooked through.
Serve over rice or noodles.
Tips:
For the best flavor, use a high-quality beef steak, such as filet mignon, tenderloin, or sirloin.
If you don't have all-purpose flour, you can use bread crumbs or cornstarch.
If you don't have beef broth, you can use chicken broth or vegetable broth.
You can add other vegetables to this dish, such as carrots, celery, or bell peppers.
If you don't have sour cream, creme fraiche or heavy cream will do.
Serve this dish with a side of your favorite vegetables or a salad.
I hope you enjoy this classic comfort food!
