This video is a report summary of a research paper published by Disability Law Service which reveals that 92.5% of local authorities (37 out of 40) in England are acting unlawfully towards Disabled people with their home care charging policies by not abiding by the public sector equality duty. The impact of this is profound on local Disabled residents. Our research shows that home care charges are leaving some Disabled people ‘distressed’, ‘fearful’, or even ‘suicidal’.
