The Fender Lead Series consisted of 4 line ups - the Lead 1, Lead 2 and Lead 3 (Lead I, Lead II and Lead III.) The 4th line up was a Lead bass that never made it past prototype stages.

These were USA made (american) and were Fender's attempt at a budget friendly guitar. Some sources state a $400 MSRP price with a street price of around $250-300 based on commenters recollections.

These are actually pretty nice playing and sounding guitars that are a bit different from what you'd normal find from fender. This guitar has a cool history.
