I had some time on my hands and wanted to benchmark the difference between the Viper and the V2 SLI setup.
Knowing the latter one is slower, I never thought it would beat the Viper in Deus Ex! The V2 beat the Viper by a 50% margin.
Probably due to better Glide support?
In 3Dmark 99, the Viper beats the V2SLI with more then double the performance! In Quake 3 Arena, the difference is not as big.
With a 30% average performance gain (more in the range of what I would expect).
I don't know where the frame inconsistency comes from with the Viper test, but after a reboot, the results were the same with the same FPS jumping around. Maybe a driver thing?
I have used my AMD Athlon XP2400+ 333Mhz FSB with 512MB DDR 333Mhz memory on Windows 98 SE with DX9.0c installed.
Though the system is overpowered, I am certain that it will get the highest results from these cards, without the CPU being the bottleneck here.
