Today officially, phase three of the coronavirus vaccination drive has begun, where people of the age of 18 to 44 years can be vaccinated. But the reality is different, only four states could kickstart the latest phase of the vaccination drive and at least 16 states and union territories said that they are not in the position to start it from today due to the ongoing shortage of vaccines in the nation. States which have started the third phase are Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Gujrat and Rajasthan. These states have started the vaccination partially. Serum Institute of India, the manufacturer of Covishield has assured the government of Rajasthan for 5 lakh vaccine jabs, so they can boost their vaccination drive.
