The City of Kuching, Capital of Sarawak, East Malaysia, started along the Riverbank of Sarawak River. Just across are the Malay villages. The White Rajah palace and Fort Margaretta are preserved as historical buildings.
The boats in the video are typical ferry boats , used to carry passengers crossing the river @ RM0.5 per head, In olden days, they were manually rowed. Now, a 2 stroke engine is added ; an innovative ways to save energy and to control the boat during fast water current. Big River Cruise boat is now available for tourists, to enjoy a ride along the river.
The City has now getting bigger , expanding with many suburbs , offering many modern facilities, hotels, supermarkets. The City still maintains its historical attractions, like antique shops, China town and India Street.
