McBrown Premieres New Show
Actress and showbiz icon, Nana Ama McBrown has been making headlines since March when she announced that she has joined Media General’s Onua TV.
Since then, the celebrated screen goddess who cut her teeth as a TV presenter as host of UTV’s United Showbiz set her fans and TV audiences on edge with what new thing she was bringing to her new home.
McBrown premiered her Onua Showtime on Sunday, April 30.
Even before the main launch in Sunday, the actress got social media talking with a video advertising the upcoming TV programme last week.
And truthfully, social media couldn’t get enough of McBrown when she pulled many views on Facebook and Twitter few minutes into the airing of the programme.

◦ Bawumia finally declares interest in NPP presidential race
Vice President, Dr Mahamadu Bawumia has announced he will contest in the New Patriotic Party (NPP)’s flagbearership race.
According to Dr Bawumia, he is prepared to lead the party to “break the eight.”
He made this known to the Majority caucus in a meeting on Tuesday, May 2, according to MyJoyOnline.com sources.
The NPP has scheduled its presidential primaries for November 2023.
The nomination period for the primaries will begin on 26 May and end on 24 June 2023.
Nine aspirants have so far declared their intention to lead the party.
They include former Trades and Industry Minister, Alan Kwadwo Kyeremateng, former Food and Agriculture Minister, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong, and Francis Addai Nimo.
◦ Tiwa Savage to perform at King Charles III coronation
Popular Nigerian singer, Tiwa Savage will perform at the historical coronation of the British monarch, King Charles III.
King Charles III, billed to ascend the throne following the passing of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, last year, will be coronated alongside Queen Consort, Camilla, on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Westminster Abbey.
The coronation concert and Big Lunch will take place on Sunday, May 7, 2023.
Tiwa Savage will join celebrities such as Steve Winwood, DJ Pete Tong, Lang Lang and Lucy, Paloma Faith and Olly Murs, to thrill guests at the coronation concert, according to the Telegraph UK.
The invitation means that the singer will become the first Nigerian artiste to perform at a foreign royal coronation ceremony.
She is the only Nigerian among the few African artistes that were chosen to perform at the historical coronation.
◦ President commissions KIA assembly plant
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo Tuesday commissioned a local assembly plant for the production of KIA vehicles for the Ghana and West Africa market.
Established by Rana Motors, it offers direct employment to 250 young people, and is expected to create 300 additional indirect jobs to contribute to the development of the local value chain for automobile assembling.
The company has the capacity to assemble some 30,000 vehicles annually.
It will bring the total capacity of the domestically established assembly plants by various vehicle companies to 100,000 vehicles per year.
President Akufo-Addo said the investment by Rana Motors was “a strong indication of the private sector support of my government's industrialisation agenda, and the sign of growing resilience by the private sector in these challenging times”.
