💡They say that necessity is the mother of invention…
Case and point:
Recently, I was headed to a #businessnetworking event when 😬I realized that I didn’t have updated business cards to exchange with those that I might meet at the event. 🫢🙀
Typically, when I get cards printed, I inevitably decide that there needs to be some major or minor tweak (AFTER I’ve just had 500+ cards printed lol), leaving me to feel as though my money 💰 has been wasted… 😔
Soooooo… 👇🏽
🤔 Thinking on the fly and with only 20 minutes before I needed to hit the road and head out 🚙💨, I decided to focus on what I DID have 🧐, rather than on what I didn’t.
That said, I hopped on Canva 👩🏾💻 and designed a super-simple name badge that included:
☑️ Who I Am
☑️ What I Do
☑️ A Clear Call To Action
☑️ My Logo for Branding
☑️ A Few QR Codes to Direct Folxxx to, Depending on Who They Were and the Purpose of Our Connection
I printed the name tag, trimmed it down to size, and threw it in the ID badge case that I still had from a previous event that I had attended as an exhibitor a few months ago.
Similarly, a few months ago, I needed something simple that would help make networking a breeze at a different event that I was attending and didn’t want to have to pack a bunch of flyers and cards with me…
I decided to order a custom shirt with my logo on the front and QR code on the back for easy scanning and connecting folxxx to my sites and social pages when networking…
OMG, y’all!!!! So so so nice and I love it’s material- so comfy, easy to launder and perfect to wear with almost anything!
People I’ve encountered at various meetings have found both of these cuties to be so useful that they’ve shared their plans to create something similar. 🥰
My shirt and homemade badge have been such a hit (yessssss!!!) and I’ve been wearing them to each and every networking event that I’ve attended ever since lol.
Just in case you’re interested in creating one of your own, I thought I’d share!
