We woke up at the crack of dawn to go to the place where Dubai started - Deira Fish Market. Dubai was a small fishing village long before it grew into the tourist attraction it is today.

JUNE 2017 UPDATE: Sadly, the Deira Fish Market has been closed and the vendors have moved over to a new facility called Waterfront Market. It's still in Deira, but it's much more difficult to reach without a car.
