The Hindu goddess Chinnamasta represents the power of Lightning, which is the famous Kundalini energy. Chinnamasta typically separates her head from her body, which means to separate consciousness from the bodymind. Thus she can drink from the neutral Sushumna channel and awaken the Kundalini energy. The Kundalini will thus rise in the spine and elevate our consciousness so that ultimately the Ego can be killed, to be reborn from the ashes in its divine form.
