On the 26th of November 2022, MTR, the Branch Line society and the 315 preservation society held two near identical railtours up and down the GEML as a "last bash" for the Class 315 EMU, which has been in use for 42 years, since 1980.
Each railtour consisted of two returns to Shenfield, covering a variety of rare track, including the avoiders around ilford flyover. During the break in the middle speeches were held, as well as cab tours of both the 315s on the tour and a Class 345, the unit to replace the Class 315 on the GEML.
315847 and 315856 did the honours on the tour.
I was able to film both ECS moves and a substantial chunk of the speech, all included in the video. Other clips are from onboard the tour, of all of the rare junctions and track covered as a part of the tour.
