We are very happy to have our choir sharing their talents with us this morning. It is always a treat and a joy to have them sing during worship.
Today we will light the fourth Advent candle, the candle of LOVE. Angel's Candle. The love candle represents:
• God's love
The love candle symbolizes God's love for us, which is central to the Bible's story.
• The gift of love
Love is a gift from God, and Christians believe that Jesus was God's greatest gift of love.
• The message of angels
The love candle represents the message of God's love that the angels announced at Christ's birth.
• Peace and love from the Holy Spirit
The love candle reminds us that God is in control of all things, so we can receive peace and love from the Holy Spirit.
On the fourth Sunday of Advent, all four candles on the Advent wreath are lit, creating a full circle of light. Believers reflect on scriptures from the Old and New Testaments about God's love.
We ask that you watch the bulletin for announcements, as well as the weekly emails and the Caller. This is a very busy season in the life of the church, and there will be many opportunities for you to be a part of this special season, our first with Pastor Kyle. Our Christmas Eve service will be on December 24 at 7:00 p.m. We will have a carol sing with the choir and congregation prior to the service; that will begin at 6:45 p.m. We hope you consider joining us in person for this meaningful service.
