Privately Commissioned, Each Individual Sterling Silver Piece in this Amazingly Beautiful Set has been Hand Crafted in 950 Sterling Silver in Puiforcat's Rare "Hammer Finish" to the Highest of International Standards, The Ultimate in Luxurious Living. Puiforcat (now owned by Hermes) was founded in 1820 by Émile Puiforcat who worked predominantly as a cutler with his brother Pierre-Joseph-Marie Puiforcat and their maternal cousin Jean-Baptiste Fuchs at rue Chapon in the Marais district of Paris. In 1857 Émile Puiforcat along with Jean-Baptiste Fuchs registered the company’s hallmark, composed as a diamond shape centered by a pocket knife in profile, flanked by the initials E and P (for Émile Puiforcat), In 1892 Laure Emilie Puiforcat granddaughter of the firm’s founder married Louis-Victor Tabouret (son of François-Louis Tabouret). Four years later in 1902 Louis-Victor assumed management of the firm and then in 1915 he changed his surname by decree to Puiforcat-Tabouret.
The magnificent water fountain (samovar) and heater measures roughly 30.50 cm. high to the top of the lid, approximately 28.50 cm. across from the tip of the spout to the end of the handle and weights an astounding 2,210 grams. The amazing Coffee Pot measures roughly 20.50 cm. high to the top of the lid, approximately 17.00 cm. across from the tip of the spout to the end of the handle and weights a massive 956 grams. The elegant sugar bowl measures roughly 11.00 cm. high to the top of the lid, approximately 11.50 cm. in diameter at its widest point and weights 556 grams. The stunning teapot measures roughly 16.00 cm. high to the top of the lid, approximately 25.00 cm. across from the tip of the spout to the end of the handle and weights 1,098 grams. The elegant candy dish measures roughly 6 cm. high approximately 11 cm. in diameter at its widest point and weights 275 grams. The dainty cream pitcher measures roughly 10.50 cm. high to the top of the handle, approximately 10.50 cm. across from the tip of the spout to the end of the handle, and weights 266 grams. Each of the above is stamped with the French Government's Head of the Minerva 1 Hallmark (certifying a minimum of 950 silver) as well as the "Puiforcat" manufacturer's sterling silver hallmark. The House of Puiforcat is currently owned by Hermes and is located at 48 Avenue Gabriel in the 8th arrondissment here in Paris. Jean Elysee Puiforcat is the founder of the art deco style and is known as the "Father of Art Deco". Each also comes with its own anti-tarnish storage wrap for easy storage. The accompanying serving tray by Christofle is silver-plate and is also in excellent condition with no wearing of the silver-plate, no even on the underside. It measures approximately 67 cm. in length to the tips of it's handles, roughly 42 cm. across at its widest point and weights and astounding 2,700 grams. It is stamped on the underside "Christofle France" "Coll-Gallia". It comes with it's own anti-tarnish storage wrap for easy storage
