The final implosion of the Avon Lake Power Plant took place on Thursday morning.
The Avon Lake Environmental Redevelopment Group (ALERG) alerted the city that the "controlled implosion" of the five buildings at the site of the former plant would happen within 30 minutes of 5:08 a.m.
A 1,700-foot "exclusion zone" was set up around the site.
Officials say the area around the power plant has been determined to be safe and clear. Normal activities can resume.
The city urged residents to remain inside, close all windows and doors, and use HVAC filters to minimize exposure to dust.
