In this video, we compare two managements of the renal pedicle during robotic partial nephrectomy for hilar tumors. This cases underline that, in the era where the impact of warm ischemia time on renal function is called into question, the benefits of the zero ischemia techniques should be balanced carefully with the potential increased risk of bleeding and complications. We advocate for the early unclamping technique rather than zero ischemia in daily practice.
