About the project
The project EEII targets strengthening competitiveness of enterprises by applying latest technologies, developed on the basis of knowledge and of competences of young researchers. Together with the Romanian Lead Partner experienced organizations from Italy, Slovakia and Ukraine implement EEII to:
* stimulate the interest of youth in the Danube Region in studying STEM;
* guide young researchers to think and act as entrepreneurs, constantly in touch with companies in order to understand their main needs and therefore to focus research on helping industry to increase competitiveness;
* make selected best practices available in all Danube Region– e.g. from Germany, Italy or Austria
The Initiative will be followed by the Early European Innovators Program (EEIP) – consisting in concrete measures to improve connections between business environment, young researchers and universities. Preparations for EEIP are done during implementing EEII.
About the DSPF
The Danube Strategic Project Fund is a pilot initiative to fund strategic transnational projects in the Danube Region. It focuses primarily on innovative pre-mature projects which could not be funded so far and responds to the actual needs in the Danube Region area.
It is co-financed with funds provided by the European Commission and the City of Vienna and is managed by PA 10 of the EUSDR (City of Vienna) in close cooperation with EuroVienna, affiliated entity to the City of Vienna.
