[Q] Doc, I started taking Benfotiamine about 3 weeks ago. How long does it usually take before I should expect to see some improvement.
[A] Hi Peter. We get asked this question in a variety of ways, all the time. For instance, people may be taking Benfotiamine, or R-ALA or Methylcobalamin, independently and they'll ask us when they'll start to feel better. So, here are a few things that are important to understand, first.
In 19 years, we've treated over 15,000 cases of peripheral neuropathy and what we've found is that most people will get the best response when they're taking all of the critical nutrients for nerves that we outlined in our video: Vital Nutrients for Nerve Repair. Now, don't get me wrong, there'll be many people that experience improvement when they just take Benfotiamine, or just R-ALA, especially if their neuropathy is mild to moderate. However, they'll hit a brick wall, typically after a short period of time. We've seen the best results when people take a good quality nerve support formula that contains benfotiamine, R-ALA, Pyridoxal 5 Phosphate, Methylcobalamin and Folate. This is the bare minimum, but if they can also add in L-Citrulline and Acetyl L Carnitine, this gives them tremendous leverage in their nerve repair, IF, these ingredients are taken in the correct amounts outlined in clinical studies.
