Come with us as we explore Meow Wolf in Grapevine, Texas and give you tips and lots of info on how to make the most of your experience. Watch our honest reactions and opinions as we wander The Real Unreal.
After visiting Meow Wolf in Santa Fe years ago, and Omega Mart on its opening weekend in Las Vegas, and Denver during its opening weekend, we had to keep the trend going and visit this new installation in the Dallas / Fort Worth area.
Make sure you check out our videos from the other Meow Wolf locations as well - @Meow Wolf even used some of our footage in their documentary!

Meow Wolf Grapevine: The Real Unreal Details
Tickets to Meow Wolf Grapevine are $50 each. They're timed tickets to keep the capacity down so it never gets too crowded, but you don't have a time limit once you're in so later times are generally more crowded than earlier. Weekends sell out weeks in advance and weeknights sell out fast also, so buy your tickets early. This is one of the top things to do in Grapevine (and possibly DFW area), and lots of people (like us) travel to Texas specifically to go to Meow Wolf.
Bathrooms and cafe are outside of the exhibit, and Meow Wolf has a STRICT no reentry policy, so eat and pee before you visit.
Parking is free in the Grapevine Mills mall parking lot. Park near the entrance by Rainforest Cafe.
The Real Unreal story is pretty straightforward, but it's the most in-depth one so far. Basically, a little boy has gone missing after going to an alternate dimension in search for a cure for his ailing mom. As with all the Meow Wolf experiences, there are plenty of secret access points, tunnels, and hidden passageways between the "real" and the "unreal" worlds. We'll show you a few of them on our walkthrough of the complex experience.
Plan on AT LEAST 2 hours if you only plan to see the art. If you want to dive into the story and uncover the mysteries, plan on as long as you can, and then book another ticket to come back a second day. This is not the largest Meow Wolf but the story is extremely complex and deep.
It's hard to put timestamps in here because you're constantly going back and forth between areas, but I tried to organize it all in the video so it seems like more of a cohesive walkthrough of each part. Every experience at Meow Wolf is different, because there are so many paths to choose and they all interweave and connect.
Note that we did not share everything in this video, there are several more portals to find and lots more art that didn't make it into the video.

Final Note: If you've been to the Meow Wolf in Santa Fe (the House of the Eternal Return), you'll notice A LOT of similarities here. It is not a completely new experience like OmegaMart in Las Vegas or Convergence Station in Denver. Instead, they've taken a lot of the same elements from Santa Fe and expanded on them. This was slightly disappointing to us, since the element of surprise and wonder wasn't there as much as the first three Meow Wolfs, since we already knew to look for certain portals like the washing machine or fridge, and the house and forest and neon kingdom were all familiar to us. We think they did this on purpose - since Dallas is easier to access than Santa Fe, more people could experience their original concept this way. Hopefully this isn't a "franchise" model where they keep rehashing old concepts and popping them up in malls across America. We'll see with the next one...
