You need to be careful if you are getting a "hybrid" car through salary sacrifice because if you choose the wrong one you can end up with a big tax bill.
The reason is because you have to pay something called benefit in kind tax if you get a car through salary sacrifice, but the amount you pay varies significantly depending on which type of hybrid you go for.
As a rule of thumb, plug in hybrids are definitely the one to go for.
You need to look for one with a low benefit in kind rate.
Range Rover Sport Hybrid for example is 5% benefit in kind which is very low.
