First opened in 1860 Salzburg station was badly damaged in WWII and was later rebuilt between 2012-2014. It lies close to the German border and has lines to Vienna, Rosenheim, the Tyrol, etc. 9 through platforms and two terminating platforms are present. It is owned by the Austrian Federal Railway. The main curved canopy was restored and retained from the previous station. An Imperial Austrian Eagle graces the canopy end.
