The Gathered Cast Off, sometimes called a Gathered Bind Off, is used in loom knitting patterns where the end will be drawn closed, such as a hat. Because the gathered drawstring is at the bind off end, this is for hats that start at the bottom and end at the top. It can be used in lots of other loom projects, such as bottle totes, sachets, socks. Just remember to begin the knit on the opposite end from the one you want to draw together. This can be done on any knitting loom. Here it is done on the small round Knifty Knitter loom.
