The Battle of Brunanburh is as deserving of recall as the iconic Battle of Hastings. Fought during the infancy of a united England, King Æthelstan (the first to take the title "King of the English" in 927 AD) fought a coalition of kings, with defeat spelling the possible breakup of the newly united kingdom of England.
Æthelstan was the grandson of King Alfred the Great, conqueror of Danish York and arguably Lord of most of Britain in his time. In this brief video, we cover his accession, life and the Battle that would mark his reign.
