Jul.19 -- German Chancellor Angela Merkel has toured areas of Western Germany that have suffered devastating floods over the past week. Her visit also came a day after her heir-apparent Armin Laschet was filmed laughing while Germany’s president made somber remarks about the flooding during a visit to the region, putting Merkel in damage-control mode ahead of September’s election.
