I’m amazed this superbly useful cheap Chinese compressor is still working perfectly.
I bought it new online nearly 5 years ago from In Your Sights and since then it has been in weekly use charging mine and friends bottles to 300 bar and occasionally charging guns directly with fill pressures from 200 bar to 240 bar.
It’s never let me down and has only needed occasional oil changes using 10w/30 car engine oil, it has paid for itself many times over in time and money saved by not having to find and travel to a dive shop.
The main burst disc has a slight dimple starting to form but I have spares still in the box and not going to change that until it fails, I added a 2nd moisture trap/filter last year for peace of mind but none of my PCP’s have had any problems yet.
It takes slightly longer to charge my bigger dive bottle now than it did when new but it still gets up to 300 bar and temperature gauge stays under 50c as I add some ice cubes to the cooling water.
I think it has slightly more mechanical noise in operation now but it has done a lot of work so if and when it does fail I will get another model of the same type as I can’t afford to buy anything more fancy, some of my shooting buddies have invested in the much better quality and much more expensive compressors from well known manufacturers but some them failed after just 12 months.
