What to do in New Orleans beyond Bourbon St?? I gotchu! (SAVE THIS- everything can be booked on )
“Okay so NOLA is so much more than a party city. It’s steeped in history, rich in culture, and the food is just everything. I advise you to get out of the French Quarter and explore some other parts of the city/culture! Here’s what I recommend:
Take a Swamp Tour - Jump in an airboat to tour the learn about Cajun culture in the wetlands and you’ll see a ton of gators! You’ll be cruising through the swamps on an airboat and it’s just as stunning as it is thrilling! If you’re a fan of the show “Swamp People” then this is a must do!
Learn about Black History at a Plantation - The Whitney Plantation is the only plantation museum that focuses exclusively on the lives of enslaved people. This ethical plantation tour is extremely sobering but it’s an important piece of history from Louisiana’s Antebellum era. I definitely shed a few tears.
Take A Food and History Tour through the Garden District - The French Quarter is just one of many neighborhoods in NOLA, so I implore you to see for yourself! Learn about the history of the garden district, witness the traditional homes, and enjoy some authentic eats with a local leading the way!
Take a Cooking Class - And if you wanna get hands on with Cajun & Creole good, take that cooking class! You’ll create a traditional meal from scratch & you’ll learn get a taste of the city’s food culture throughout the process!
And this is just the beginning! From ghost walks to locally led jazz nights on Frenchman street, is full of tours that showcase the best of New Orleans! GetYourGuide is also perfect for solo travelers be you’ll have a group of people to meet and you won’t have to go it alone! You can also opt to have transportation included on some of your excursions which is useful for attractions that aren’t in the city center!
Thank me later! Have you ever been to Nola? If so, what was your favorite memory? Ever used GetYourGuide? #getyourguide #getyourguidepartner
