In today’s video, I’m changing the brake discs and pads on a 2016 (Mk2) Citroen C1. It’s been three years since I last did this. It was in fact supposed to be the first ever video for this channel, but the videography was poor, so I didn’t end up making that video, but here we are! I’ve gotten myself a pair of brake discs and set of brake pads from Borg & Beck. I’ve used their products extensively in the past, I’ve been really impressed with them. I’ve had Borg & Beck clutches, brakes etc on various cars over the years and I’ve got no problems with the quality of them at all.

In order to do this job, I needed a jack, axle stand, impact gun/breaker bar, 13mm socket, 17mm socket and a T30 Torx bit. Consumables wise, you’ll need some clean rag, brake cleaner, Mintex CeraTec paste (or equivalent) and some medium strength thread locker. It’s a case of removing the calliper and hanging it somewhere safe, so it won’t stretch the brake hose, remove the calliper carrier, remove the disc and clean everything up. Replace the brake pad hardware, lubricate the back of the pads and start to reassemble in the reverse order of removal.
