2013-08 - Driving in the Detroit Economic Development Zone 3 - In the early 2000s, in order to compete with the suburbs and all their open, available space to attract industrial activites, Detroit created an Economic Zone just North of I-94 between Mt. Elliot and Van Dyke and razed most of the structures in the zone. Ten years later, the land sits empty, being reclaimed by wildlife.
