Management of diabetic retinopathy involves early diagnosis, prevention of microvascular complications, and effective surgical and non-surgical treatment. When non-surgical management is ineffective, surgical interventions such as, laser photocoagulation and vitrectomy aids in treating the complications. The type of intervention strategy to be employed depends on an individual’s clinical presentation.
