Why some WWII tanks used aero engines: [ Ссылка ]
The Cromwell tanks was a British medium tank used in the later years of WWII.
It's main goal was to replace the Crusader tanks, and with it's Rolls Royce Meteor engine it became the fastest British tank of WWII.
First entered service during the Normandy invasion in 1944, was used all through teh war and then some of them even seen combat in the Korean war.
It weighted about 27 tons, was driven by the 600HP Meteor engine, it's main armament was a 75mm gun and 7.62 machine guns.
