At a railway station in the Ukrainian city of Lviv, a woman was seen playing the Louis Armstrong tune What a Wonderful World on the piano on March 5, 2022, as thousands of women and children make their way out of Ukraine to escape fighting in their country. On the other side of the Polish border, German pianist Davide Martello earlier greeted Ukrainian refugees with the John Lennon song Imagine. Displaying a large peace sign painted on the side of his piano, Martello says he wants to promote peace through music.
