Love Kathy Bates' performance in a 90s classic? A big fan of author Fannie Flagg's work? Well, there may be a festival for you.
Juliette, Georgia, which was where the movie "Fried Green Tomatoes" was filmed, is holding a festival honoring the movie which, according to a release, "made Juliette world-famous."
The movie, of course, filmed in Juliette, was released in 1991 and featured actors like Bates, Mary Stuart Masterson, Mary-Louise Parker and Jessica Tandy. While set in Birmingham, director and producer Jon Avnet filmed in Juliette.
The movie was based on a book by Flagg, which came out in the 80's. Its full title, "Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe," was shortened for the movie. She also helped create the screenplay for the film.
