The Green Book was something African Americans needed with them when they took long road trips before the Civil Rights Movement. Due to segregation laws, Blacks couldn't just go to any restaurant or gas station. Nor was it safe for them to travel through certain towns after dark. As we celebrate Black History Month, we learn why The Green Book became so important.
