The fourth webinar under the Urban Resilience Unit’s second webinar series 'Building Resilient Cities' was presented by Mr. Sourav Kumar Biswas on 6 November 2019. Mr. Biswas Sandhu is a landscape and spatial analyst at Sasaki Associates in Boston.
In this webinar, Mr. Biswas discusses the case for using the 'Landscape Approach' to reconcile urban development patterns with natural systems in order to build urban water resilience. The approach places landscape and its socio-ecological linkages as the foundation for the design of urban form, infrastructure, land management regimes, and territorial systems using the examples of Kolkata and Chennai.
