The new FANUC M-2iA Robot is the third in a series of FANUC's high-speed parallel-link delta robots that also include the M-1iA and M-3iA robots. Two new models of the FANUC M-2iA Robot are available; The FANUC M-2iA/3S, and the FANUC M-2iA/3SL long-arm model seen in this demonstration. Both models offer a 3 kg payload, four axes of motion and a single-axis rotation at the wrist.

In this demonstration, the M-2iA picks and places mint containers from an inbound conveyor to an outbound conveyor at an amazing 182 parts/minute -- That's approximately 3 parts every second. In addition to simply picking and placing the containers at extremely high speeds, the robot also orients the parts in the same, consistent position. The robot does this through a combination of its single-axis wrist - which offers speeds up to 3500 degrees per second - and through FANUC's iRVision Line Tracking system. This monitor displays what the robot's camera is seeing.
