The stationary air conditioning system cools the interior, as required, when the vehicle is stationary, even with the engine switched off. It works with two separate cold circuits. The first circuit, which uses an CFC-free refrigerant, produces cold air during the journey or with the engine on. A heat exchanger cools the mixture of water and Glysantin in the second circuit. At the appropriate setting, this mixture flows through the air conditioning system's heat sink and cools the cab's interior. Any excess is fed to the cold reservoir in the stowage compartment on the left-hand side of the cab. The cold reservoir can be used to air-condition the cabin interior for up to 8 hours with the engine switched off - and thus without creating any noise or exhaust gases. The system uses only around 25% of the amount of refrigerant usually required. The stationary air conditioning system is available for all TGX cabs.
