Hi, In this video I will show you how to make "Makki ka Dhokla", a preparation out of Corn Flour/Makki ka aata. It is a winter special dish in the Rajasthan, India.
Let us collect the ingredients for making "Makki Ka Dhokla":
500 Grams Makki ka aata/Corn flour,
1 tsp ajwain /carom seeds,
2 tsp Saji/papad Khar/alkaline salt(sodium bicarbonate)
Chilly Galic Paste ( 10 Green chilies,10 Garlic cloves-grind to a paste)
50 grams Green Peas/Matar.
50 grams chopped Spring Onion/hari Patti Pyaz,
50 grams hara dhania/green coriander,
3 Tbsp Chana dal/Bengal gram soaked in warm water for 1hr,
1 tsp salt as per taste( add less, as alkaline salt also has to be added)
1-2 Tsp Red chilly powder, more or less as per your requirement,
So let's begin making Makki ka Dhokla, put the cornflour in a "paraat"/plate and add all the ingredients into this one by one and first mix them well with your hands without adding water.
Now add water little by little and make a dough, and give them the shape of the Dhokla as in the video, and put them into the steamer/idli cooker.
let the Makki Ka Dhokla cook for about 30 minutes on medium flame.
After 30 minutes check if Makki ka Dhokla is cooked as guided in the video.
And the Makki ka dhokla is ready to serve.
Makki ka Dhokla is eaten with hot Gingely Oil/"Til ka tel" and Dal along with sliced onion, roasted green chilly and lime salad
