Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko arrived in Qingdao City of east China's Shandong Province Saturday for the upcoming 18th Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit.
The Belarusian president's flight arrived shortly after midnight, and was greeted by Chinese officials.
The SCO was established in Shanghai in 2001, with China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan as founding members. In 2017, the SCO absorbed two new members -- India and Pakistan.
The annual SCO summit is expected to formulate a new strategy to better connect their respective national development strategies so as to boost regional cooperation.
The SCO Summit will begin Saturday and conclude Sunday.
