Unloved: Huronia's Forgotten Children is a multi-layered investigation of a shameful period of Canada's social history.
The Huronia Regional Centre was a hospital and school for children and youth deemed intellectually disabled. The film explores the stories of the survivors of this institution including years of physical, emotional, and sexual abuse of children.
Barri Cohen, the film's executive producer, joined us on the show along with Marie Slark, one of the survivors whose story is featured. The two discuss the film, and their personal experiences.
The film can be seen for free on the CBC Gem app.
