Max (Kat Dennings) is a brunette and spunky woman who works at a low-rent diner in Brooklyn, N.Y. Her co-workers include Han Lee, the small Asian owner, Oleg (Jonathan Kite), the joke-telling cook, and Earl, the aging cashier, while Caroline (Beth Behrs), the new waitress, is blonde and tall, and doesn't fit in with the class. Caroline used to be a real Miss Manhattan, but after her father's bankruptcy, she was forced to work in the dinner to survive. Max, a soft-spoken girl, takes Caroline in, and the two girls become good friends, despite their different backgrounds
