In this video, with the help of Dr. Dylan Blacquiere (stroke neurologist), I walk residents on The Ottawa Hospital Neurovascular Teaching Unit through hyperacute stroke management. This talk covers indications, contraindications, and complications of thrombolysis and thrombectomy. I also discuss the differences between alteplase and tenecteplase, and I briefly touch on the current state of evidence regarding a direct-to-thrombectomy approach.
