Reykjavik, Iceland responded quickly and efficiently to the pandemic -- as a result, the city saw some of the lowest death rates from COVID-19. Mayor Dagur Eggertsson, who studied medicine before getting into politics, introduced rapid testing and tracing efforts to keep numbers low and gain control of spread throughout the city.
