'Mount Etna Erupts: Spectacular Footage Shows Volcano Spewing Molten Lava'
After days of volcanic activity, Mount Etna has erupted in spectacular fashion, showering the night sky above Sicily with glowing rock and boiling ash.
The lava flowed into a nearby uninhabited valley, but ash blew from the summit over nearby towns on the Italian island.
However, the local population was unharmed, with minor eruptions a common occurrence at Mount Etna - the largest of Italy's three active volcanoes.
