With new technologies and markets reshuffling industrial value chains and the Covid-19 pandemic giving impetus to calls for a resilient and sustainable future, what measures are needed for Europe’s industry to thrive? Will the update of the industrial Strategy announced in May this year be enough to bring Europe back on the road to resilience and “competitive sustainability”? Is there a clear vision for the future of EU industry in the current geopolitical context? Which indicators are needed to best monitor progress?
This event will cover these questions and present the recommendations of the CEPS Task Force “Towards a Resilient and Sustainable Post-Pandemic Recovery”, which ran from November 2020 to May 2021. The discussions focused on a wide range of policy areas, from agriculture to energy and the Green Deal, the digital transition and strategic value chains, the future of competition policy and trade, policies for jobs and skills and the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors. Esteemed panelists from EU institutions and industry stakeholders will discuss the recommendations with CEPS experts and the audience.
This event is organised in collaboration with Cassa Depositi e Prestiti.
