Kevin De Bruyne will be available for Manchester City’s trip to Aston Villa on Sunday.
City suffered a scare when then Belgian midfielder went down under a collision against Manchester United in midweek, which resulted in him being withdrawn in the closing stages, but Pep Guardiola says he suffered no ill effects.
However, the fit again Aymeric Laporte will not be involved at Villa Park.
The City boss also revealed that while there have been encouraging signs since the Frenchman returned to training, it is too early to know when he will be in available for selection again.
“Kevin is fine,” said Guardiola.
“Laporte is not in contention yet. He’s training every day. He’s finishing the training with no pain and can train the day after. That’s good news.
“I don’t know when he’ll be ready to start playing some minutes. From what I see on the pitch he moves well. It’s been a long time. We’ll wait for the doctor to say he’s OK to play.”
