WELFARE OFFICER

No. of Vacancies: 05 Nos. (UR-03, SC-01, PWD-01)

 

Educational Qualification: i) A degree in Social Work from a recognised University or equivalent qualifications.
OR
ii) A degree in any other subject of a recognised University, plus a Diploma or Certificate in Social Welfare Work or an allied subject from a recognised University/ Institute or 02 years’ experience of Social Work.

 

Desirable:
i) A degree in Psychology.
ii) Good Power of expression in Bengali.
iii) Experience in dealing with delinquents.

 

Age Limit: Maximum 36 years as on 01/01/2019.

 

Pay Scale: Rs.7100 — Rs.37600

 

Upper Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC/ST, 03 years for OBC and upto the age of 45 years for PWD category. Others, if any — As per Govt. norms.

 

Note: Ability to read, write and speak in Bengali is an essential requirement (not required for those whose mother tongue is Nepali).

Candidates’ Selection: Selection of candidates will be through Interview. Where the number of applications received is large the Commission may restrict the number of candidates to be called for Interview to a reasonable limit on the basis of either higher qualification/ higher marks/ grade obtained or on the basis of a Preliminary Screening Test (PST).

Upon successful payment of prescribed fee and submission of online application form, the system generated Registration/ Acknowledgement Slip will appear on the computer screen. Candidates must print-out it for future correspondence. DO NOT SEND ANY PRINT-OUT/HARD COPY OR DOCUMENTS TO WEST BENGAL PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION (PSCWB) AT THIS STAGE. All the verification will be done in due course.
