The Union Cabinet is expected to approve the withdrawal of the contentious farm laws this week. This comes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the government's decision to repeal the controversial laws which hundreds of farmers have been protesting for nearly a year. However, the farmers protesting at various borders of Delhi will continue with their stir and plan their next course of action on November 27th. The umbrella body of farmers groups, Samyukt Kisan Morcha, has also written a letter to PM placing forth six key demands, which include demand for legal support for MSP, withdrawal of cases against farmers, and withdrawal of the draft electricity amendment bill.
