Congress leader and spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala, while addressing a press conference, accused PM Narendra Modi of using goons and forces to silence students. "There is no rule of law, democracy left in the country," said Surjewala. Asking the government to "stop sponsored violence in campuses", the Congress leader said: "Why are you harbouring enmity with the youth of country? The more you suppress the voice of youth, the more emboldened it will become."
