The majority of women seeking safety in the UK are survivors of rape and other forms of gender-based violence.

But the asylum process in the UK means that women who have already survived so much are met with hostility, racism and disbelief.

Women who have come to the UK in search of safety find themselves: disbelieved by default, heartlessly detained at random and are often left to ‘live’ in atrocious accommodation.

This isn’t just wrong, it’s shameful.

The Government has promised to prioritise survivors of gender-based violence.

Women seeking safety MUST be included in this promise.

Otherwise, they will be treated as less deserving and left behind.
