Today on our 2016 Buick Enclave, we're doing a test fit of Kuat NV 2.0 platform style two bike rack. That part number is NV22G. Now we already have our bike secured down. We're first going to show you one of the key features of this rack. We're going to come here to the center. We're going to pull down on the lever, that's going to allow us to tilt our bike rack with our bikes fully loaded away from our vehicle.
Now at this point, we would be able to gain full access into our back hatch area to get anything in or out that we may need. What's great about this is that we have an automatic hatch door and we're not gong to make any contact with our bike rack. Keep in mind that we have about nine inches from the center of our handle bars to the outer most edge so if you have handle bars that are a little bit longer, you'll notice as we close the door, it does get pretty close. You've got a few inches of space there so only for handle bars that are a little bit longer than these nine inch ones will be you be able to gain that access. What's great about that is that we don't have to worry about taking anything off just to gain access and get anything in or out that we may need. At this point, we'll go over how this is secured down. We have our cam buckle here at the back.
Simply push on the grey portion and pull the strap through and then at the front we have a wheel hook that sits right there in front of our brakes or in front of our frame depending on how our bike is made. One great thing about each of our two mounting points is that we do have the option to use the cable lock there to help secure this even more. We would just push on the black button to release that and pull straight down as it ratchets to secure it into place. With those out of the way, we can take our bike off and set it off to the side. Then I like to replace my hook towards the other side so it doesn't get damaged. Now we'll take a few measurements.
First is going to be overall what we're adding to our vehicle. We're going to have about thirty and a half inches. Our ground clearance is going to be about twenty-seven and a half inches. Closest point is about seven and a quarter. From the center of our hitch pin hole to our closest point we're going to have about twelve inches so just keep that in mind.
We do have a factory hitch. If you have an after market hitch, you may have a couple different measurements there. Once again, we're going to pull down on that lever. This is going to lock our bike rack into place in our fold up position which will be great for close quarter situations. We're not going to have to worry about closest point here because we do have a lot of room in between the bike rack and the vehicle. Overall we have about fourteen and a half inches added to our vehicle and about sixteen and three quarter inches of ground clearance. As for out hitch, this is designed to work with two inch hitches only. We have a pin and lock down there that's going to help prevent theft and tampering. Then here at the back we have our anti-rattle device which tightens everything up on the inside shank. It's going to keep a lot of shake and play out of the bike rack as you head down the road. That's going to be our completed look at the Kuat NV 2.0 platform style two bike rack, part number NV22G on our 2016 Buick Enclave. First, we'll take it onto our shalom course. This will show you the side to side action such as making turns or evasive maneuvers. Now we're at the alternating speed bumps. This will show you how it looks driving on uneven pavement or potholes. Finally, we're at the solid speed bumps which simulates going into your driveway or parking lots.
