Wikipedia articles have different types of page protection. We look a the most commonly found types of protection found on articles.

The most common types of page protection are semi-protection and extended confirmed protection. Each type of protection requires registered users to have met a minimum contribution threshold before a registered user can edit. This is to prevent spam in the form of unregistered users and new users creating accounts for unconstructive editing.
